Acxion (phentermine) 30 mg is indicated for the following uses:
- For obesity: It is used as a short-term aid in a weight-reduction program based on exercise, calorie restriction, and behavioral changes for individuals with an initial Body Mass Index (BMI) of 30 kg/m² or greater.
- For overweight individuals with health risks: It can also be used for those with a BMI of 27 kg/m² or greater who have other obesity-related risk factors, such as high blood pressure, diabetes, or high cholesterol.
How it works
The active ingredient, phentermine, acts on the central nervous system to reduce appetite. It is a sympathomimetic amine, similar to an amphetamine, that works by increasing levels of neurotransmitters like norepinephrine in the brain, which helps suppress hunger signals.
