- Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD): Alprazolam can provide short-term relief from symptoms such as excessive worry, restlessness, irritability, and muscle tension.
- Panic Disorder: It is used to reduce the frequency and intensity of panic attacks, which are sudden episodes of intense fear with physical symptoms like a racing heart, sweating, and shortness of breath. It can be prescribed with or without agoraphobia (fear of places that are hard to escape).
- Anxiety with depression: It is sometimes used to treat anxiety that occurs alongside depression.
